New York Giants RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. (ankle) is no longer on the team's injury report, head coach Brian Daboll said on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

New York Giants RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. (ankle) will practice on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
Huddle Up: It is great news for the rookie, who was thought to have suffered a serious ankle injury about a week ago. While it is uncertain if Tracy will be limited in his return, he should be able to resume his chase for the primary backup job in short order. Tracy is more than worthy of a late pick in fantasy drafts.

New York Giants RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. (ankle) was spotted running and cutting on a side field while being supervised by training staff on Thursday, Aug. 15.
Huddle Up: Just over 48 hours ago, Tracy was put in an air cast with what was thought to be a serious leg injury. He was eventually diagnosed with a low-ankle sprain. Needless to say, it is great news for Tracy to be already working out in some capacity. The early expectation is that Tracy could return to full practice sometime next week. Fantasy managers are encouraged to continue drafting Tracy in the double-digit rounds, as he has a realistic chance to earn significant reps in the passing game early in his rookie season.

Updating a previous report, New York Giants RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. (ankle) was diagnosed with a right low-ankle sprain and is considered week-to-week. Tracy will wear a protective boot for the foreseeable future, but the injury is not nearly as significant as it appeared when he had his leg placed in an aircast during practice on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

Updating a previous report, New York Giants RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. (leg) was already back in meetings hours after his right leg was placed in an aircast and he was carted off the field on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
Huddle Up: Going from an aircast to participating in team meetings is a huge swing in about a four-hour time period. No word has been released on the seriousness of his injury, but the fact he is not in the hospital right now would indicate this might be more of a multi-week injury and not a multi-month injury. Tracy was making a strong push to be Devin Singletary's backup, so perhaps he will get a chance to resume that quest in the coming days.

New York Giants RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. "appears to have the upper hand" in the battle to be the primary backup for RB Devin Singletary, according to Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post.
Huddle Up: Tracy's receiving background should help him see the field on third down, and if he emerges as the No. 2 back, he will be worth grabbing in the later, especially in PPR formats.

New York Giants RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. was recently ranked No. 10 on NorthJersey.com's list of the team's potentially most impactful players for the 2024 season. According to NorthJersey.com's Art Stapleton, the primary reason for that ranking is that he believes the Giants could use Tracy the way the Detroit Lions use Jahmyr Gibbs.
Huddle Up: Some obvious caveats need to be issued here. Tracy transitioned from receiver to running back late in his college career, is not as electric as the 2023 first-round pick and will not have the benefit of working behind arguably the NFL's best offensive line. With that said, Tracy fills an obvious need as a pass-catching running back and joins a position group in New York that lacks explosiveness. There is a decent chance Tracy either ends up splitting the backfield work with Devin Singletary or overtakes him by the end of the season.

New York Giants RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. "spent a good portion of 11-on-11 drills on Tuesday with the first team," according to Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com on Wednesday, June 12.
Huddle Up: While Devin Singletary is the starter on early downs, Tracy has a chance to hold a significant role on third downs and as a receiving back. He's still a flier in the late rounds, but he could become a high-end handcuff.
